Metal fatigue are persistent concerns
for all armor personnel. High pressure exerted within the barrel will
eventually cause warping and micro fractures, leading to premature
shell denotations. Sample above shows shell denotation inside the barrel sleeve, leaving its gun useless. Black grill are the engine vent shafts, the left vent is also capable of producing white smoke for vehicle screening. Fatigue (material) - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fatigue_(material)

In August 1990, US began to mobilize forces for Persian Gulf deployment. Although airborne divisions began to arrive within a week, heavy equipment took over a month for delivery. In all, it required 4 months for build-up a Coalition force of 200,000 men.

After the war, US concluded the M1 is simply too heavy for rapid transport within 36 hours to emergency
hotspots worldwide since the largest US aerial transport C-5 can only carry one M1 tank at a time. Four-engined

Upon reflection, military
strategists concluded that Iraq could have achieved a tactical victory by immediately launching an invasion of Saudi Arabia in Sept. 1990 before significant US build-up. Existing US and Saudi forces would not have been able to withstand the onslaught and be forced to withdraw. Iraq would have able to disrupt the world's oil supply, causing massive havoc
on the US economy (similar to 1979 Iranian Revolution). Coalition forces would then be forced to fight a longer protracted campaign, thus the longer the war, the greater the possibility that the Coalition would collapse.
