  • Ballistic sloped hull made from 5 sections of thick styrene sheet, surface details taken from various modeling parts such 1.35th TAMIYA Tiger, Panther, Stug IV kits. Panzer crews from mid-1980s Verlinden aftermarket set. Infrared equipment wire on top hull made from soldering wire, schurzen brackets from 1.35th TAMIYA Jadgpanzer IV (A) kit.

  • Inset 1 : Panzerbekleidung (armored personnel uniforms) painted Waffen-SS style Oak Leave "A" jpz4 crewautumn camouflage tunics, black schirmmutz visor cap + feldmutz cap + gloves. Tarnmuster (pattern) on uniforms hand-painted in dapple-fashion of Military Brown + Dark Earth enamels via sharp-tipped paint brush.

  • TESTOR Wood enamel used for flesh tones, paint washed with Black enamel. I personally avoid using FLESH TONE enamel paints since the color looks too anemic even with weathering effects. Map case and flare gun are between two figures.

  • Throughout WW2 there was not a standardized Waffen-SS camouflage uniform, SS Research Department field-tested multiple designs with frontline troops, hence one could assertain the uniform's year of service via its pattern. • Rollover : ( Rollover JPG link ) | Nahverteidigungswaffe (close-in defense weapon) is remote-controlled MG34 machine gun with angled gun shield to deflect ballistic rounds. Gun operated by handle swivel with periscope mount inside the compartment, but gunner still have to partially emerge to reload machine-gun drum magazine. MG34 was a premier WW2 machine gun used on variety of armor, aerial, naval platforms. MG34 & MG42 German Machine Guns - http://www.efour4ever.com/machineguns_germany.htm

  • Inset 2 : Following success of Stug III self-propelled gun platform in tank destroyer role, Germans hetzerconverted Czech Panzer 35(t) chassis into Jadgpanzer role called Hetzer (Baiter), armed with 7.5cm PAK39 L/48 gun. Although crew compartment was cramped, its large boggie wheels provided excellent cross-country maneuver, while small compact design enhanced low silhouette for armor ambushes.

  • Germans produced about 1,600 Hetzers between 1943 and May 1944 when Hetzer factory in Czechoslovakia was overrun by Soviet forces.

  • Hetzer below knocked out in open plains (probably from aerial attack), tracks thrown forward as it reserved, internal explosive blown upper hull plating. Jagdpanzer 38(t) Hetzer - www.achtungpanzer.com/hetzer.htm
