Crewmen above wear FELDMUTZE cap instead of SCHUTZMUTZE beret. In 1939, beret was official Panzertruppen headgear, but was cumbersome to wear with headphone set. Panzer crews began using 1938-version Feldmutze, it became so popular that beret was withdrawn from use by March 1940. In 1944, beret was reissued to German Nebelwerfer rocket battery crewmen, being a mobile artillery branch their beret color was field-green and not Panzer black.

Rollover : Rear deck of Panzer
IV, tow cable made from model ship rope, soaked in
Elmer's Glue + Water, dried to contour shape, painted TESTOR Black, dry-brushed TESTOR Chrome. To give muffler a rough look of excessive use, Elmers Glue was painted onto its surface, then sprinkled with baking soda powder, and painted TESTOR Dark Brown.

To loop cable on hinge
below the muffler, one side of cable loop was cut out
and snuggled against the hull, rest of cable was drawn across
the tank's contour. Note that improved
armor protection increased Panzer IV F1 weight by almost
50%, thus 4-cm wide tracks was installed to hold this weight,
also required new front drive sprockets and rear idler wheels. Road
wheels also slightly expanded, hence they had more dished-out hub appearance.
