Anzio - Italy 1944 : Stupa passing Tiger I tank, both with heavily foliage to conceal against marauding Allied aircrafts in open rolling plains. Crew from both vehicles wear mixture of field green and panzer black uniforms. In Italian theater, Stupas were used as Core-Setting mobile defense strong points to reinforce and anchor infantry positions. Being mobile, Stupas can be moved readily to different combat sectors being threatened on-demand.

From 1944 onward, Germans no longer relied on singular Hauptkampflinie (Front Combat Line) as main defensive line, rather organized a series of defensive belts in which the entire area was called Kampfraum (Combat Zones). This enabled Germans to withdraw in orderly fashion to succeeding defensive strongpoint, and when possible immediately organize a counter-attack before enemy could consolidate their gains.
