- Armed with much-used six 50-caliber heavy machine guns (as indicated by the gun ports' paint chipping) along with eight air-to-ground rockets and two 500-pound bombs, this Corsair is ready for a ground-support sortie. Partial white-red bar on left wing indicates late-1940s national insignia, hence Korean campaign. Note propeller nose cone painted alternating Black and Red colors.

Rollover : Canon-armed VMF-323 Corsair (as indicated by WS tail code), outfitted end-to-end with two 500-pound bombs in center racks and four 100-pound bombs on both outer wings. It is fortunate that during the early part of the Korean War, US/UN forces possessed relative air superiority. Otherwise, these heavily laden Corsairs would be sitting-ducks for marauding enemy aircrafts.
