White engine band was masked off with masking tape, remaining model hand-painted by brush with TAMIYA Navy Blue acrylic paint, plane interior painted Polly-S Medium Grey. For weathering technique, rubbed Black Pastel onto coarse sand paper, excess powder is placed on paper sheet. Using a short brush with sharp bristles, gently rubbed powder along panel lines. Entire model buffed with cotton cloth (an old sock of mine in this case) to blur the black highlights onto model surface.

Rollover : Finished model spray-painted with TESTOR Dullcoat for a flat finish, this also sealed the black pastel onto model surface. Although Marine Corsairs were painted in gloss navy blue, I reasoned that extensive carrier operations in salt-sea air would stain the plane surface and attract dust-grim-dirt, hence cast overall non-luster feel to the model. Corsair model is ready for decaling and display mounting.
