VMF-323 at Cherry Point - North Carolina before deployment to Korean front. F4U painted in overall gloss navy blue. Engine cowling, fuselage, and wings are painted with White-Burgundy Red-White stripes. Some Corsairs will retain these stripes on the engine cowling and overlap it with the Rattler Snake insignia.
