Do-217 is classified more accurately as Night Interceptor rather than Night Fighter, all be it German called all night fighting aircrafts Nachtjadger (night fighter). As Allied night bombing raids on western European industrial - urban - transportation centers increased from 1942-onwards to war's end in 1945, Germans needed aircrafts which can carry more weapon loadouts (heavy machine guns and cannons) and assorted airborne radar systems. Rollover : Do-217 model set in in-flight position, with landing gears stowed, aerial controls set to banking turning. Propellers were clipped off to resemble in-flight status. Display base from Revell Babylon-5 Starfury model, its inners filled with modeling clay from Walmart's Children play tools section for added stability.
