  • RAF code TP was previously assigned to No. 73 Squadron operating Hurricane fighters in Sept. 1939, but was reformed to fly Typhoons with No. 198 Squadron at Digby-Lincolnshire on 7 Dec 1942, and operated ground-attack missions throughout western Europe until its disbandment on 15 September 1945 in Wunsdorf-Germany.   • Rollover : Angle shot of 1943 black-white stripes for friendly-forces identification, created via combination of painting and decal placement. Typhoon pilots had to wear oxygen masks at all times while flying this aircraft due to engine exhaust fumes leaking into the cockpit. Original canopy design used a Car-type Doors, but was replaced with sliding tear-drop style canopy for ease of entry-exist and all-around aerial viewing.
