  • Initial model construction, major parts assembled and spray painted with grey primer. With wheel gear wordmodeled in flying position, gaps in wheel wells filled with white puddy. Rollover : Typhoon upper surface dark green and blue grey camouflage was hand painted with TAMIYA Acrylic paints. Bottom surface was spray painted with TAMIYA light grey. Model kit provided black decals for 1943 stripe pattern, thus only needed to paint corresponding white section.

  • Localization note, word Typhoon is the romanized Chinese word TAI-FENG (strong block of wind). Via meteorological nomenclature, these annual storm conditions are called Hurricane in Atlantic ocean, Cyclone in Indian sub-continent area, and Typhoon in Pacific region.   • From socio-linguistic history, extent of British Empire from late 17th-century to mid-20th century brought various romanized Chinese and Hindi words into modern English vernacular.
