  • One concept of "Mobile Infantry" began with French Army during WW1 trench warfare, they needed to cross no-mans land under fire. Thus French created a mobile armor shield crawler called "Creep Tanks" whereby a single soldier would man-handled himself across the terrain and fire his weapon from protective slits. Its effectiveness is questioned by fact that its slow lumbering advance would make it extremely vulnerable to enemy grenade and artillery fire. • Not to be French outdone, in WW2 Italian 1944 Anzio campaign, US General "Iron Mike" O' Daniel instructed construction of armor sleds, each carrying one infantryman, daisy-chained in series and pulled by M4 Sherman tank. Idea was for soldiers to cross mine-infested ground unscathed as Sherman tank blew a path via anti-mine whirling detonation cables. Frontline American soldiers were not impressed, whirling cables usually fouled tank's running gear after firing, while the men lay prone in those open sleds (which coincidentally resembled coffins), completely vulnerable to sniper fire, artillery barrage, exploding shrapnel. Men also commented that riding in that sled was like "having the comfort level of a little red wagon, with one wheel missing". Needless to state, its usage was quickly withdrawn. Puddy's oil residue discoloring solved by spraying layer of Matte Finish from aerosol can.

This process also seals in painted acrylic surface, for without it the surface has a chalky feel and can be easily scratched.
