Both numbers 8 and 9 are considered fortuitous omens in East Asian numerology. Via Chinese socio-linguistics, number 8 is rendered "Ba" and sounds like word "Fa" for "Prosper" (fortune), while number 9 is rendered "Jiu" which is a homonym for "Jiu" meaning "Forever" (longevity). This numerology is observed in China - Taiwan - Hong Kong - Vietnam - Singapore - East Asian ethnic enclaves throughout Americas - Europe - Asia/Pacific regions. All be it, other Asian nations have other interpretations for the same numbers. For example, in Japan number 8 is also considered fortuitous due to episodic imagery since Japanese Kanji character for "8" resembles Fujisan (Mt. Fuji), but number 9 is considered ill-omen since it is render "Ku" in Japanese language, which alludes to adjective "Kurushii" (is bitter)... meaning one would have a bitter life and hardship. Rollover : Polygon shoulder shields akin to feudal knight armor were umbrellas from 1.48-scale Hobbycraft Bf-109G-14 fighter kit. Umbrellas were installed next to canopy area so that German pilot would not fry his arse-off when sitting into the cockpit... an absolute prerequisite for operations in North Africa and Mediterranean theaters). Gundam is a meta-series Japanese anime, by which individual stories referenced similar chronology, cast, and background, but are not sequels to each other.
Gundam Newtype | Wiki
Uwe favorite meta-series story is 1988 "Gundam Char's Counterattack" (also called Char's Revenge). I got my own 2nd generation VHS copy in 1990, and official DVD copy by 2004. Model body parts galore, painting 2nd stage Danish Flecktarn pattern onto mobile suit |
 |
Given Flecktarn hard-edged small diameters, area painted with sharp-tip small brush via Testor enamel paints.
Small portion of paint paste scoped out of bottle, mixed with 1 to 2 eye-dropped thinner onto a plastic bottle cap.
Bottle caps from distilled water plastic bottles. There are used once for mixing and then trashed. It is not a good idea to reuse these caps since previous dried paint may flake and contaminant current paint mix. |

Legs & torso section, background forest green area painted via airbrush, remainder flecked camouflage hand-painted |
 |
Arm and head section, insulation Playtex areas for arms and legs painted in-place since excessive handling and fitting after paint job would crack the paint |
