In use since 1991, a 5-color dapple pattern of Light green, green-grey, dark green, red brown, and black. Danish based its M/84 design on this version, but elected to leave out red brown portion.

Although camouflage uniforms has been worn by European combatants a 100 year beforehand, they were issued to sniper or other partisan harassment units. Waffen-SS was the combat formation to wear camouflage uniforms as standard combat dress. They were ridiculed by conservative German Army hierarchy (since vast majority of its officer corps possessed aristocratic blood lines), but seeing its combat effectiveness, they relented and produced their own unique camouflage patterns.

In post WW2 era, camouflage as standard Battle Dress Uniform (BDU) adopted by Eastern Europe Warsaw Pact nations in 1950s and US Army by 1970s (all be it American Green Berets Special Forces worn its Vietnam variants in 1960s). Modern day US pixelated BDU is latest successor to this Waffen-SS lineage.
