Terminator trilogy spanned 1984 to 2003, a near 20-year saga. His Terminator character progressively become more emotionally aware in the series. Although old time fans somewhat preferred his cold unemotional behavior in original movie. During its 1984 moving university screening, the audience was awe-struck by the amount firepower absorbed by the cyborg. In the famous police department shoot-out, colleagues of mine counted no less than 20 shots that hit the cyborg with no avail. Granted, for 21st-century movies, this effect is miniscule, but quite impressive for 1984 audiences.

Rollover : Images of Schwarzenegger throughout his career from body-building, to movie actor, and finally California Governor. Arnold is a common Germanic first name (spelled Onno in Dutch) and means Eagle Power, while Schwarzenegger means Black Stitcher.

Native of Austria, Arnold's father was a Nazi paramilitary member and served as Gendarmerie-Kommandant (police commander) and postal inspector. Totalitarian regimes usually exert wide influences over daily lives and thoughts of its people, for example it was mandatory for all German and Austrian kids to join the Hitlerjugend (Hitler Youth) organization. Even Pope Benedict XVI of the Catholic Church was forced to join the Hitler Youth organization during his upbringing. Some accused Arnold of complacency since his father was a Nazi member, but rejecting his father political leanings since his youth, this accusation quickly faded.

In American politics, various pro-Nazi controversies emerged in the past 50 years. First was Charles Lindbergh and his America First party in 1940 where he accused Jewish-Americans of pushing the US towards war against Germany and resigned his military commission as protest. Controversy was such that when US entered the war in 1941, President Roosevelt explicitly forbade Lindbergh's military re-enlistment. Hence, Lindbergh had to serve as a civilian contractor to the US military for WW2 duration. Charles Lindbergh - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_Lindbergh

Second was Joseph Kennedy Sr. (head of the Kennedy clan) when he was US ambassador to Great Britain. He feared the coming war would destroy his business empire and compel his sons to participate. Thereupon in Nov 1940, he publicly proclaimed that western democracies were dead and that the US should make amends with Germany, which brought an immediate outcry and forced his resignation. This past was never publicly mention as his sons (John, Bobby, Edward) gained more national political prominence in the 1950s-1960s. Joseph Kennedy - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joseph_Kennedy

Third was Wernher von Braun, which led the postwar US rocket research programs from 1950s to 1970s. During WW2, von Braun designed the German V2 rocket for missile bombardment of both military and civilian assets. He was also a Nazi Party member and a honorary Allgemeine-SS officer. Allgemeine-SS - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Allgemeine-SS
- Nazi party membership was a prerequisite to work on secret military projects. Allgemeine-SS oversaw the V2 project, with von Braun being a civilian, he needed SS officer rank to supervise on-site military and paramilitary personnel. He was also accused of using slave labor to construct the missile research and rocket assemblage facilities. WW2 ended and the Cold War began, thus US needed technology experts to fend off Soviet rocketry advancements. Thus, von Braun Nazi-past was quickly forgotten.
