  • PC flight simulator games, can give good approximation of modern aircraft handling. These flight simulators attempt to emulate nearly all aspect of plane surface controls and flight dynamics (ex. plane stalls, g-force, pilot blackout). One such game is Lock-On : Modern Air Combat, screen capture above shows a Soviet-era Mikoyan MiG-29 naval fighter approaching the Admiral Kuznetsov carrier for landing. • Rollover : Close-up of Mig-29 landing on Admiral Kuznetsov carrier, PC game simulation is detailed down to dynamics of flight deck arrestor cable and plane arrestor hook & wing flaps operations. Other carrier-based flight simulators is Pacific Fighters, based on IL-2 Sturmovik gaming engine, which emulates WW2-era combat planes including US Navy - British Fleet Air Arm - Imperial Japan carrier planes. • Note : there is a former Soviet carrier named Admiral Kuznetsov, now serving with Russian Federation Fleet, she is the only ship of her class. When Soviet Union collapsed in 1991, Kuznetsov was stationed in southern Black Sea fleet . Newly independent Ukraine nation lay claim to all former Soviet conventional, nuclear, and naval resources within her jurisdiction. Russians simply ignored these demands and sailed the carrier out on Dec 1991 from Black Sea to the northern Baltic Fleet. Black Sea Fleet - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Sea_Fleet

  • This carrier name was changed multiple times before its current designation, originally named Riga (Baltic state Latvia capitol) in 1982, changed to Leonid Brezhnev (former Soviet Premier) in Dec 1982, then to Tbilisi (Caucasus state Georgia capitol) in 1987, finally to Admiral Flota Sovetskogo Soyuza Kuznetsov in 1990, shortened to Admiral Kuznetsov.
