2.2 ) Conversion

Altering a model kit into a specific variant (some modelers also call this method Kit Bashing). Differences between Conversion versus Scratch-Built techniques are in the customization effort, with the latter requiring more. Both techniques are utilized when a particular model is not produced by manufacturers or after-market products.

Example 1 : TAMIYA 1.35th Horch personnel carrier, converted to a 2cm FLAK platform by mating the gun platform from a 1.35th ESCI Demag anti-aircraft halftrack.
